The area is Zagori in Ioannina, northwestern Greece. The area has 45 villages called Zagoria, which are scattered in the foothills of the Pindus. It has an area of approximately 1.000 square km and starts from the South Western part of Mount Mitsikeli (altitude 1.810 m), reaches northward Aoos River and Mount Tymphe and east to the river Varda Mavrovouni (altitude 2.100 m) near Metsovo.
